Daily Eargasm Music Blog
Daily Eargasm Home

The net, just like the media is filled with the same mundane musical garbage day in and day out. I figured that since I can’t find more than a few decent music and mp3 blogs online, that I’d create one of my own. I am multi eargasmic, so expect Indie, Trip Hop, Grindcore, Emo, Hip Hop, Pop, Metal, Reggae, Experimental, Punk, Folk or any genre that’s still undefined! That having been said, I urge all artists to with interview requests, mp3 singles that I can post, tour dates or any juicy gossip that you should probably keep to yourself. Now…On to the music!

Halloween Shows In Your Neck Of The Woods
Halloween is coming up, and like most people, I'm pretty convinced that you still have no idea what you'll be doing. Sure you can come out of your Mom's basement for the first time in a year and go bag snatching, or you can watch the Nightmare On Elm Street Marathon on some crappy cable channel with your pimple faced friends, but wouldn't it be much more fun to head to a venue to hear some kick ass music while slamming drinks with members of the opposite sex who cant see how ugly you really are? I thought so!

Check out this list of Halloween shows, and maybe you'll actually have a good time for once! Eve if you can't lose your virginity that night to a naughty schoolgirl or to Fabio with an eye tacked to his chin, you'll still be able to listen to something while being able to oogle at these ladies/guys without them knowing who it is that's staring at them in such a creepy way!

Check out the beats that'll be spun by the
Decibel Devils in Sacramento California. You can see them at the Golden Bear on 2326 K St. If you've never heard of these guys, have no fear... They are Team Sleep approved! If you don't know who Team Sleep is, than please leave my site.

Do you have a dark heart that loves heavy music loaded with ghoulish growls?
Five Finger Tragedy is playing at Hallowfest at Greystone Tavern Inc. at 1106 Kesler Mill Road in Salem VA. They will be joined by Dark Ruin, Speak Of The Devil and Signal 7, so bring $5 and show up at 6:30 or these bands will eat your soul.

If you're a Grindcore Fan, and in a place called Yuma Arizona, head over to Prison Hill on 2330 Ave. A to check out Secretary with Lions Den. Rumor has it that they'll be dressed up as long haired musicians with corks in their ears and tattoos on their arms.

If you're lucky enough to be in the UK with all kinds of cool indie bands with really wicked accents, you can check out The Peekaboos at Baileys in Doncaster. I don't have the exact time, but if you really want to check them out, just camp out overnight until a fat bouncer lets you in.

Who doesn't like Mindless Self Indulgence? Well I can think of a lot of people who don't, but if you are one of those people that do, and you are in Philly, check them out at the Trocadero on 1003 Arch Street. They'll be joined by Kenny Muhammad, The Human Orchestra, The Giraffes, and Demander.

I could go on and on with all the cool shows that'll be going on, but if you look around, I'm sure you'll find something going on in your neck of the woods...and if not, have fun with that Freddy marathon! Happy Halloween everybody!

P.S. Pick up the new Deftones album, Saturday Night Wrist. There aren't many singles on it if you're into that pop crap, but the album as a collective is pretty cool when you sit back and just zone out.

Deftones Release New Track For Just 24 Hours
As if I didn't need anymore reason to count down the days til October 30th (the release of the new Deftones album Saturday Night Wrist), they released another new track today called Rapture. The drum grove is right in the pocket, the guitars are crunching and Chino is back to his angst driven self with his wailing and tortured screams at an all time high. The song provides a nice contrast to the melodic Hole In The Earth, and the collaboration with Serj from System Of A Down on another unnamed track makes this album a "must have" in 21 days, 11 hours and 20 minutes...not that I'm counting or anything! Check out the Deftones' Myspace page for the next 12 hours to get a listen to this new track before it's pulled!

Classical Deftones Tribute & A New Billy Talent Track
Like many veteran bands, a classical instrumental album has been recorded in tribute to the Deftones by the String Quartet.  Thanks to the 30 second clips posted on Amazon, you too can listen due to the curiosity that is eating your brain, much like I just did!  It's a little strange, but the first 5 seconds of every track seem to make up this weird chaotic sound, until your ears are able to pick out each instrument individually. From there, it actually becomes quite relaxing...Like a Lortab and Redbull cocktail!

The track listing is as follows:
01. Minerva
02. Rx Queen
03. Engine No. 9
04. Change (In the House of Flies)
05. Dai the Flu
06. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)
07. 7 Words
08. Teething
09. Knife Party
10. Battle-Axe
11. Passenger
12. Mascara

The album will be released on September 19th thanks to Vitamin Records. You can check out the 30 second clips of each track only on Amazon.

In other new release news, The guys of Billy Talent have posted a live version of their new single Red Flag recorded at their intimate warm-up gig at London's Terminal Studios earlier this year. If you couldn't make the Terminal show or in my case you were too lazy to charter a private jet to London, or were there and want a reminder of the night's ear candy, you can download the track from TuneTribe by clicking here.
