Vincent Minor - Late Night Show MP3 Download

Vincent Minor Is Born In The Wrong Era

Everything old is new again.Vincent Minor is a man who was born in the right place at the wrong time. These Vaudeville harking tunes will take you to a place that you’ve heard of, but have most likely never experienced, and they can’t help but make you wonder if Vincent Minor is a victim of unfortunate time travel.  Vincent Minor has a distinctive slightly nasally voice that  blends perfectly with piano parts that converse with Wurlitzer, horns, and strings.

Born in the Wrong Era comes out on Social Science Recordings May 26th, 2009, and manages to take you through an emotional rollercoaster of up’s, downs, optimism and pessimism. A full-length album will follow in the fall, but in the mean time be sure to pick up this EP. Thanks to Vincent, the track Late Night Show was in our mailbox and it’s yours to stream and download below.

Motherlover : Mothers Day With Timberlake And Samberg

Not only is it a Sunday, but it’s Mothers Day, so I thought I’d do something a little different. Instead of bringing you mp3 downloads of emerging artists, a full mixtape or a killer remix, I thought I’d give you all a gift that should be passed on to your mothers as well. Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake from Dick In A Box fame are back with a new gift for all the ladies: a hillarious SNL video titled Motherlover.

Bad Boy Bill and Alyssa Palmer - Falling Anthem

Untitled-1.eps

Despite what you may think, Bad Boy Bill isn’t a new rapper signed under P-Diddy’s Bad Boy label. Bad Boy Bill is a bonafied electronic badass that is skilled in the art of creating thumping house beats, simulated vertigo, and filling the dance floor up with a sea of sweaty bodies all clad in their boogie shoes. I won’t lie: I have an ear infection right now (unless a gallon of water is nesting in my ear canal), so the pulsating beats caused me drop to my knees in dizziness, but shouldn’t all good music have that effect?

Bad Boy Bill’s first release is titled The ALBUM, is set to drop on July 28th. Luckily you don’t have to wait for a preview track, as I got my hands on Falling Anthem f/t Alyssa Palmer. After you read this sentence and click the link below, you will have your hands on it as well.

Animal Collective on Letterman - Summertime Clothes

Last night before bed, I turned on the tube and was able to catch Animal Collective on Letterman performing Summertime Clothes. There were 2 reasons that I was unable to record it myself:

1. I’m ill equipped technologically, and haven’t the foggiest idea how to rip videos from my TV. I’ve sure I could grab it online somewhere, edit and upload, but let’s face it: I am lazy.

2. Those human starfish with the creepy dance moves scared the crap out of me, and I had to retreat to the corner of my room with my head down until they stopped. I get a bit on edge at night, as I’m scared of the dark. No, jackass…I don’t wet my bed (too often).

Thanks to Audioperv, I was able to watch this again with some sunlight showing in my house and I wasn’t as scared. If you’re a fan of the Collective, be sure to check this out. If you like creepy dancing by colorful cocoon creatures, then this video will be up your alley as well. If you don’t like either, then you’re out of luck because I am offering no alternative.

Dragonette Remix of Fritz Helder & The Phantom - Lagerfeld Lady

dragonette

Being the Las Vegas native that I am, I have a soft spot in my heart for lounge music. Pianos, flutes and saxophones are par for the course at any vintage style Vegas lounge in the Downtown area, and when I hear these elements in music, I can just picture  senior citizen couples dancing together, and the taste of a 99 cent shrimp cocktail fills my mouth. I also have a soft spot in my heart for a catchy tune that can make me do the ackward white boy shuffle while forgetting that I look like an idiot. If you take the combination of both of these elements and blend them together in 1 song, you’ll get the Dragonette’s remix of Fritz Helder & The Phantom’s Lagerfeld Lady.

For this remix, the original pulsating dance beat has been muted and blended with throwback style instrumentation. This track leads me to believe that if the Rat Pack began their musical journey in the beginning to mid 80’s pop era, that we’d have a lot more tracks like this in our classic music vault. Since this didn’t happen, we can thank the Dragonette’s for giving us a listen to what could have been, had the cards had been dealt a little differently.

DJ Skeet Skeet Remixes The Library - You Don’t Need No Doctor, Sugar

The Library

Los Angeles based remix master DJ Skeet Skeet has remixed You Don’t Need No Doctor, Sugar by The Library. The already funky original track that blends nuances of Maroon 5, Rush and The Rapture, has been stirred up even more resulting in a track that just oozes manic energy.

If you’re starting to wind down a bit prematurely and you are aching for a double espresso, skip it, save a few bucks and just blast this track. If you feel like listening to the originals, be sure to pickup The Library’s self-titled EP from Feudal Records.

Shawn Chrystopher - (Mixtape Download) I.W.G.2: I Told You So

Another day, another mixtape…And this one is at the top of the class. Shawn Chrystopher and Honour R.O.L.E. Music dropped I.W.G.2: I Told You So at midnight. Nobody likes to tell the world he made it, more than Shawn Chrystopher does, and I’d say he deserves it. His rhymes are fresh, his delivery is smooth, and his realization of this helps him to exude the type of swagger that hip-hop was originally built on.

Shawn Chrystopher’s debut full length album titled A City With No Seasons will drop in August, but this mixtape should hold you over just fine until then. Stream it below, and be sure to grab the album below it.

The Cool Kids - Gone Fishing Mixtape Download

cool-kids-gone-fishing

Ladies and gentlemen, this is hot off the presses! The long awaited Gone Fishing mixtape by The Cool Kids has finally been released! The Cool Kids worked together with producer Don Cannon to put out the hip-hop soundtrack of the summer. Unfortunately Don Cannon has littered the entire mixtape with the tag  “CANNON”  which is a bit distracting, but there is no doubt that The Cool Kids are on top of their game. The Tracklisting is in the image above, and you can also visit When Fish Ride Bicycles for more info directly from the mouths of Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish.

Eclectic Method Presents The Tarantino Mixtape

If nobody has told you yet, the Eclectic Method are the kings of movie mixtapes. Last week, The Tarantino Mixtape was dropped on the world and since then, I’ve been doing nothing but practicing my snap kick and loading my revolver on beat to Queen’s We Will Rock You. It’s not as easy as it sounds…Trust me (I’ve almost shot myself in the foot 3 times).

These geniuses not only found the most amazing action scenes spread across multiple movies, but they also worked in the audio elements to make up an amazing soundtrack to go with it. If you’re a fan of Quentin Tarantino, than this mix is for you. If not, than watch it, and prepare to be a fan from here on out.

Black Joe Lewis And The Honeybears - Sugarfoot Video

Black Joe Lewis

Ya, I know. I’m late to the Black  Joe Lewis & The Honeybears party, but I am glad I finally arrived. As I opened my door yesterday, I was greeted by a dingy yellow envelope addressed to me. While I wasn’t sure what it could be, my mind began to run wild. Could it be a cactus? Could it be a envelope full of lime jello? How about a petrified dinosaur turd? After thinking about it for 33.79 minutes, I decided to open the envelope and just see what was inside. Upon opening the envelope, I realized that what I had just opened, was a whole lotta soul!

As I looked at the cover of Tell ‘Em What Your Name Is featuring a lil guy sticking his tongue out at me, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I flipped the cover over, and upon seeing tracks listed such as I’m Broke, Big Booty Woman, and Humpin, I knew I was in for a good time. I went to my office, sat down, and put the CD into my state of the art Rainbow Bright CD player and took a seat. It was time to sit back and really analyze this CD so that I could give this a proper review, so here it is:

I listened to the CD for about 7 seconds before my wife and I got up, started gyrating nonsensically all over the place thanks to the funky beats, and didn’t stop for approximately 30 minutes when the CD stopped. I’m not quite sure what happened, but I pulled my groin, hyperextended my knee and my pelvis is sore. This album should come with a warning label, because it’s funk level is at a 13 on a scale of 1-10. James Brown would be proud and my doctor will be happy because my medical bills are going to far exceed my yearly income.

I dare you to watch this Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears video for Sugarfoot and TRY to sit still. If you can pull this off, I will give you your money back.
